How backing works

  1. Apply

    Eligibility by country, then identity. Merces never holds your keys.

  2. Choose

    Read terms, story and verification tier in the Arena.

  3. Bid sealed

    Deposit into escrow. Nobody sees your amount until reveal.

  4. Reveal

    Use your reveal key before the reveal window closes.

  5. Settle

    Every winner pays one clearing price. Unused deposits are delivered back to each bidder.

  6. Claim

    Each quarter, claim your share of verified payments.

  • Trade sealed-bid units during the lockup

Risks, in plain words

  1. Payments can be zero. If income stays below the threshold, nothing is due.
  2. Upside is capped. A unit never pays more than its cap, however well things go.
  3. Money is locked. Sealed-bid units cannot be transferred during the lockup.
  4. Pauses happen. Hardship pauses are allowed, and you will not learn the reason.
  5. Claims can end. Death or permanent disability extinguishes every claim.
  6. Review is not a guarantee. Issuers are reviewed, but nobody can promise their future.
