Merces is software and a protocol, not a lender or broker. Issuers are invited and reviewed, and review is not a guarantee. Bids stay in escrow until a raise settles. Auction refunds are delivered back. Holders claim available payouts. Payments depend on a person's future income and can be zero. Never commit more than you can afford to lose.
